Baku Forum 2017
Gloria Tauk is a senior cinema and television student at The Lebanese Univer- sity’s Institute of Fine Arts. In the framework of the Networks of Mediterranean Youth project (NET-MED Youth), funded by the European Union and implement- ed by UNESCO in southern Mediterranean countries, Gloria has actively par- ticipated in several exchanges aimed at improving youth’s representation in media. This included a national workshop held in Lebanon in March 2016 as part of the “Youth on Screen” initiative– a collaboration between NET-MED Youth and MedMedia, another EU-funded project, which facilitated dialogue between young people and national broadcasters from eight Arab countries. In this con- text, Gloria took part of discussions regarding the replication of “Generation What?” in Arab states and also presented a TV programme idea that is expected to become a pilot produced by Tele Liban. She also shared this idea at a region- al side-event held during UNESCO’s main World Press Freedom Day celebration in Helsinki, Finland, in May 2016. Gloria was also a speaker at the “Youth and Media Forum” organized by the European Union, Canal France International and the Samir Kassir Foundation in March 2017 in Lebanon, Beirut.
