Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen is a Saudi academic and public figure who was born in 1957, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Before being elected as the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in November 2016, in 2008, he was appointed as the Minister of Social Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 1997, he was appointed as Advisor to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs. The following year as Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs for the rehabilitation of persons with disabilities. In 2002, a royal decree was issued appointing him as Secretary-General of the King Abdullah Foundation for Development Housing Parents. Dr. Al-Othaimeen headed the Coordinating Committee for Government Disability Services and served as Secretary General of the Charity Association for Orphans in Riyadh, A member of the Board of Trustees of the Prince Salman Center for Disability Research and a member of the National Poverty Strategy Team. From January 2016 until November 2016, Dr. Al-Othaimeen worked as the Director General of the Cabinet and Chief Advisor to the Secretary General of the OIC.
